Zoya Blaze Swatch & Review

I bought this shade way back earlier in the year when Zoya was having a sale (pay for shipping and receive 3 bottles for free) and when the CAD/USD exchange rate wasn’t this bad.

I had been eyeing for this shade for a long time, especially after I tried Zoya Dream and witnessed how amazing it is under the sun.

Zoya Blaze is a red/berry colour with scattered holo effect. It looks beautiful under daylight.

Application is the same as great (no streakiness and easy to apply) as long as you are used to Zoya’s brush. I mentioned before that their brushes are not the best for me. However, I think I’m more used to it now.

It lasted 7 days with minor tip wear

OPI Dutch Tulips Nail Polish Review & Swatch

I apologize for the lack of updates on my blog. I have been quite busy with my personal life these days and my nails were peelings so I was taking a break and letting my nails breath.

I got this bottle of OPI Dutch Tulips a month ago. It was on clearance at my local London Drugs for CAD $5.99. I believe this was part of OPI’s permanent line. However, since it is on clearance, I’m not sure if that means it will be discontinued.

The moment I saw the bottle I knew this is gonna be the perfect bright spring/summer colour. The photo doesn’t really do justice to the colour. I would describe the colour as in between hot pink and fuchsia.

The application is wonderful to work with. No bubbling or streakiness at all. I used 2 coats in my photo but this can be a one coater.

Overall: 5/5 – one of my favourite colours from OPI for sure!

Marcelle Hydra-C 24H + SPF 15 Moisturizing Cream Review

A few months ago, my Aveeno daily moisturizer ran out. I was on the hunt for a new moisturizer with SPF. This Marcelle one appealled to me because I am looking for a moisturizer + SPF with no added scent.

Marcelle is a Canadian cosmetic brand that focuses on people with sensitive skin. All of their products (the ones I have tried) have no fragrance.

Upon applying the moisturizer, I like the smooth feeling it gives to my skin. However, it doesn’t last long. Within 30 minutes, I can feel the SPF “peeling” off my face. This is my main issue with this product. I would wonder how this fares under hot, sweaty weather.

Marcelle Hydra-C 24 H + SPF 15 Moisturizing Cream (50ml) set me back CAD $23.95. The 50ml jar lasts me more than 3 months.

Overall: It is an okay product. I doubt I would buy it again because of the “peeling” off effect. 3/5 stars

Superstore – Cosmetics Sale

Yesterday I happen to pass by superstore and decided to check out their beauty sections. Lots of items are on sale. Revlon lipsticks were CAD$3.97 each. Revlon lip butters were also CAD$3.97. I think it’s the first time I see lip butters on sale. Usually they are priced around $10-$12.

I would have grabbed some Maybelline matte lipsticks if there were seals on them. But it looks like someone tried them.

I also got a L’oreal Eyeliner in Pure Purple for $CAD7.99.

That’s all for now. Cheers!

Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum Review

Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review. However, opinion is purely my own.

Hello! Today I am reviewing the Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum with Vitamin C.

When it comes to skincare, I am trying to look for products that have less harmful chemicals. Even though my skin is not particularly sensitive to fragrance, I would avoid it when I can (why risk it anyway). Here’s a description of Oz Naturals.

OZ Naturals is a leader in natural skincare. We formulate the most effective anti aging products on the market. Our products are cruelty-free, paraben free, sulfate free, mineral oil free, lanolin free and gluten free.

Product Claims:

  • Plumps & hydrates dry dull skin
  • Assists in Balancing Skin Moisture Levels
  • Diminishes surface lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen

My Experience:

First of all, let’s talk about the packaging. It comes in a bottle with a dropper. There is 1fl oz (30ml) of product inside. The product looks clear. It is made in the USA. What’s good about the packaging is that when i squeeze the dropper in the bottle, then take it out to squeeze out the product, it gives me exactly enough product for my face and neck.

One thing I did notice about the dropper is that it doesn’t go to the very bottom of the bottle. It will be hard to get the last bit of the products out.

Second thing I noticed is the smell. It is subtle and pleasant. I don’t see scent in the ingredient list so I am assuming this is how the product naturally smells.

I used this serum at night only. I wash my face with cleanser and wash cloth. Then I put a thin layer of this serum and letting it absorb onto my skin while putting on my eye cream. After the serum has been absorb completely (in 15 seconds), I will put on moisturizer.

I have combination skin (dry cheeks & oily t-zone). After using this product for 5 night straight, I can feel my skin is more soft, hydrated, and smooth. When I wash my face the next morning, I can still feel the serum on my face.

Since I am in my 20s, I cannot test the claim about diminishing surface lines and wrinkles. What I can say is that it is a great organic serum compared to other serums in the market.

Overall: I do like this product. I think I would use more often as I age. I really like the fact it is made with natural ingredients (92% natural and 72% organic according to the labels). 4/5

Oz Natural Hyaluronic Acid Serum can be found on amazon.com for $16.45 and amazon.ca for CAD $19.95 with free shipping.
